Business 3000

My name is Natalie Morey, director of The Lifestylers Group and I am also a Business 3000 Committee Member. As part of my Business 3000 Committee role, I am responsible for updating the content on the Business3000 Website, which is run by Square Circle Triangle using the Blocks website system.

It is quite different from other sites which I have worked with. Why? It offers a more comprehensive data storage facility than existing sites I am familiar with. It also allows numerous people to have access to the site, should they want to update content. However, only select users have permission to approve the work. This is a great facility as it provides different people with access to the site, yet their is an approval process on the system, which means that the data imputed can be controlled, reviewed and then approved. This is a feature which I particularly like. It also provides a rather nifty facility, allowing you to track all the changes you make. Again, this is a great tool if you wanted to revert back to previously stored data or content. No re-typing needed. We like that.

Having a limited number of resources it is crucial our efforts and energy are in the maintenance and development of IT, not in the management of content and facilitation of online campaigns. Blocks will enable Mirvac IT to be more responsive and save on crucial IT resources as well as being scaleable for all divisions of Mirvacs online needs in the future and as such provides the best possible solution.

For the Foundation’s purposes it gives flexibility in managing reporting and acquittal of grants - the ability for the grantee to submit reporting and photos of their project directly into blocks, which in turn means we can directly upload photos to our site and save them centrally
Ability to manage information for our annual distribution reports with the grantees able to submit information directly on to blocks.
It gives us flexibility in managing our website, keep it current with new information, keep all website information centralised and able to be managed by a number of people.
The contact manager module allows us another way of managing information dissemination to grantseekers i.e. when funding principles or guidelines are changed or when new programs or biennial programs such as the music commissions are announced
As a philanthropic organisation I imagine there are many more uses we will discover when we starting using it and have greater understanding of its capacity.

Being an international company, SensorConnect Pty Ltd relies heavily on the web and online marketing for lead generation and PR.
